Equip de Biologia de Conservació de Plantes vasculars (BioC)
La sèrie MCNR (Mediterranean Chromosome Number Reports) que publica OPTIMA, ha arribat al seu volum núm 23, que acaba d’aparèixer a la revista Flora Mediterranea. Aquesta contribució, editada per G. Kamari, C. Blanché & S. Siljak-Yakovlev inclou noves dades cromosòmiques de 56 tàxons de diversos països mediterranis.

Acaba d’aparèixer la versió en línia del volum 23 de la revista Flora Mediterranea, que inclou diversos articles corresponents a les comunicacions presentades a la XIV edició del Meeting OPTIMA celebrat el passat setembre a Palerm. Ha estat publicat aquest novembre al web de Corpo Forestale dello Stato italià el primer raport sobre l’estat i les accions de conservació actives de limònium de l’Aquila ( Goniolimon italicum), elaborat per l’Ufficio Territoriale per la Biodiversità dell’Aquila dels forestals italians. A través de l’enllaç que facilitem es pot accedir al document amb el conjunt d’accions de recerca, seguiment i experimentació, d’aquesta espècie endèmica, descoberta el 1982, que il·lustren sobre la pràctica de la conservació de flora a l’estat italià, en un tàxon on la biologia reproductiva té un paper cabdal (longistília/brevistília) en el manteniment a llarg termini de les poblacions.

Grazie alle attività condotte nell’ambito del Programma RENGER (REte Nazionale per la conservazione del GERmoplasma) del Corpo Forestale dello Stato, è stato scongiurato il pericolo di estinzione del limonio aquilano, una specie vegetale endemica che in tutto il mondo vive solo nelle conche Aquilane, vera e propria gemma della biodiversità.
Tre le azioni di conservazione attiva già attuate con successo, la germinazione in vitro e in vivo presso il Centro Nazionale per la Conservazione della Biodiversità Forestale di Pieve Santo Stefano dei semi raccolti nell’Aquilano e la reintroduzione delle piantine così ottenute per formare una nuova popolazione, posta proprio al centro dell’areale di distribuzione naturale della specie. Si attende ora l’istituzione della nuova Riserva Naturale Statale “Doline di Ocre”, che proteggerà alcune tra le popolazioni più importanti della preziosissima specie.
